Which Cable Weight Is Right for You?

We stock the two most useful Rx cables: the Buff (heaviest) and the Hyper (lightest). Between them, they cover every level from first double-under to competition-day PR attempts.

Buff 3.4: The Trainer

The heaviest standard cable at 3.4oz (96g) per 9ft section. Rx call it the "Dual Threat" for good reason. For anyone still learning double-unders, the extra weight gives you feedback and control; you can feel the rope, which means you can time your jump instead of guessing. For advanced jumpers, the Buff is a brilliant training cable that adds resistance to your conditioning work without sacrificing technique.

Hyper 1.3: The Racer

The lightest cable Rx make, at 1.3oz (37g) per 9ft section. This is a pure-speed cable, comparable to traditional racing cables, engineered for the fastest possible cycle rate. Not for beginners. If you can already string together 75+ unbroken double-unders, the Hyper is the cable that'll push your PR higher.

If you're between the two, do 50–75 DUs unbroken and want something in the middle, start with the Buff for training and upgrade to the Hyper when you're consistently above 75.

Coated or Uncoated?

• Coated (Black, Pink): PVC-coated for a smoother feel, better longevity on rubber flooring, and more forgiving when you clip yourself on a missed rep

• Uncoated: Bare aircraft-grade cable for the absolute fastest spin. Advanced athletes only. Rubber floors or mats strictly. Will hurt your skin if you clip yourself, and will void the warranty on abrasive surfaces

Cable Length & Sizing

Sizing is based on your height + 3ft (92cm). Shorter than that is fine and often advisable as you progress. We stock every length from 8'0" (for heights of 4'11"–5'1") through 9'4" (for heights of 6'3"–6'5"), in 2-inch increments. Cables wear out, it's the nature of the product, not a fault. Use on rubber gym flooring or a mat. Using an Rx cable on concrete, tarmac, gravel, or any abrasive surface will destroy it in days and void the manufacturer's warranty. Keep a spare in your gym bag.
